Finally got my Chrimbo smokes in. Unfortunately my usual Aberdeen partner in crime was under the weather so met up with Euan instead.
He started off by gifting me a Hoyo Particulars, tobacco used from the 1985! In return I gave him my last Boli Esp No2? Which I had been looking fwd too but such generosity needed to be reciprocated.
I will smoke that in my new smoking hut, where the mild/soft flav (Euan's warning), can be most appreciated. He then gave one to the barman, who smoked it outside in less than ideal conditions but enjoyed anyway.
We started smoking my pr of Robina Shorts 2014. Really beautiful smokes, flav coming through, despite the cold; didn't want it to end.
Followedby a pr of Euan's Punch EL2017. These too, were Punchy enough to be enjoyed outside.
And finally, I gave Euan a Party SDNo4 & I had a Monte Tubos 2007. Despite the previous two smokes, this amazing 'value for money' Havana shone on it's own. To anyone wanting to or starting to put a few stix away to age, I would highly recommend starting with these. The longer you can keep them the better but 5-10yrs would be my guide.
A splendid evening, finished off by a rare fillet of far better quality than I would have got back at the hotel.
