This Quintero Coronas from the '70s is a handmade long-filler cigar that comes in cellophane. The cellophane is slightly yellow. This cigar is part of some singles from the '60s, '70s and '80s that I bought last year. It has been stored at 65/66 RH.
I'm drinking Espresso made from Tanzanian beans and sparkling water with it.
I used my 9 mm punch because I'm too cheap to buy a 7 mm one.
Cold draw: Nothing much, just a hint of tobacco.
First third: The draw is a little tight and the burn is slightly uneven. Ash doesn't hold. The cigar is mild and I'm not getting much flavor wise. It's mostly light roasted tobacco. I retrohale with every puff. As I'm approaching the second third I get a hint of cream. The smoke leaves a "coating" on my tongue and palate.
Second third: Not much change in flavor or strenght. The smoke stings a tiny bit on the retro now, I like that. I just got a hint of sour cream on my last puff (I'm writing this as I smoke) which is nice. The burn is more even and the ash holds now. The cream flavor is gone again and I'm getting a touch of wood on top of roasted tobacco.
Final third: I just had to cut the cigar as it started to leak some tar. The slight sour cream taste is back, it's very light though. The tobacco flavor overshadows it quite a bit. The coating on my tongue and palate is heavy now.
Total smoking time was approximately 75 minutes. The cigar made for a pleasant morning smoke. Nothing too crazy but I'm glad to have smoked this one.
