This is the cigar of the month. I hadn't intended to smoke it today but removing the band tore the wrapper a little so to the flame it went.

Had a couple of birthday smokes today. The first was amazing, a Flor d Cano PC. For those not familiar with this vitola, it comes wrapped in a cedar & cello. For a long time these were machine made but this was hand made as it was Pre-Rev so older than me - just. And they are getting harder to find every year!
The wrapper was smooth & the aroma still qjite strong, which boded well. A clean & non musty predraw, with normal Cuban resistance but n more. It lit easily & straight away produced more fragrant smoke than any cigar I can recall smoking this year.
The bezt part was the lack of a strong cedar flav. Now no doubt many enjoy this sensation of smoking the cedar box but I for one do not. Fresh ones put e off cedros type cigars yrs ago but this had mellowed & the cedar was just a nunance & complimenting the overall flav instead of dominating it.
The ash stayed on for over half the length & I don't normally bother trying to keep it on after an inch but this didn't want to fall, even when tapped.
Perfectly matched with just a coffee, this allowed all the remaining flav's to be appreciated. Although a beer would have been nice, a whiskey would have overpowered it.
Lasted an hour & made my day.
Then I was feeling so good I thought I'd have an smoke but with confidence it would be a good one. So I chose a Party Coronas Especiales from the '80's. I received a pair of these yrs ago & the other was fine, this was a complete dud & disappointment, a flav free zone. Photos attached shortly.
