Took a walk with Mrs Bolivar & ended up at the cafe, with a 20yo R&J Churchill Tubos, from Tippex. 35oC blazing away but a large coffee, a Palm, followed by a Triple Karmalite, dehydration was averted. Splendid vintage smoke.

Good Question, I fav is Palm. As it was with the British Tommies during after the war, it's a similar colour & taste to British bitter (rather than lager), just a bit stronger. I assume the beer would have been weaker during/ just after the war anyway. However for stronger cigars the Kalmeliet matches better & is a fine drink in it's own right. I also enjoy Blonde/Bruin Leffe, Blonde Corsendonk & of course, Duvel & I did consider that but with the heat & expecting to have two beers, I knew it would have a strong soporific effect on me.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Cheers!
A few of my favourites are on that list but my preferred is Duvel. On the other hand, I never pair duvel with a cigar, duvel is too bitter for me to pair. I tried several times but won’t do it again
