Lonsdales/Cervantes have a reputation for being plugged, I don't know it that predates the bad period of '98-'02 but plenty of 2000 & 2001 boxes could have half or more unsmokable. However time has eased that but I have had a Molonis that was so plugged chopping it about still didn't improve it (was pre-Perfect Draw).
Maybe someone more knowledgable about the rolling process why this vitola should have any problems with draw? It's a medium diameter & length, should be straight fwd. The problems with Cuban cigars during that period was the increased Yuppie demand in the late 90's & they took on lots of new & inexperienced rollers - perhaps they thought Lonsdales would be a good size to start with, maybe after Petit Coronas?
