Some of you may remember I smoked a fresh HdM Petit Robusto a couple of months ago and I hated it, It was harsh to say the least! I was assured this was probably because it was young and needed some age to improve.

Emaresee kindly provided me with a HdM Petit Robust from 2016 to show me they can be a great cigar (thanks for the Quinteros too!). Honestly, I've been putting off smoking this as the first experience was my worst to date. I took the risk this morning to give HdM another try.

Well, you were all right. This was one of the best smokes I've had yet! What a difference time can make.

Delighted you enjoyed it! I had the same with HUHC.... had a few with age, bought a box smoked one hated it. Figured I had 24 mistakes on my hands, gave them only 3/4 months and all changed. Resting cigars which have had a long journey to you is key, and age can settle harsh ones.

Odd! I’ve found this possibly the most consistent Cuban cigar over many years, even young. No doubt you can always get a dud or something isn’t quite right with that box. Stick with them because they’re bloody lovely and usually veryyyy consistently good.

'15 Petit Edmundo courtesy of Simon Bolivar. Don't normally smoke many montes but this is pure chocolate. I've got a few singles of other vitolas to dig out now as I think I need to revisit the marca.
