Agreed. Rob told me that they have set 3 world records for online auctions so far.

Unfortunately, this sets the pace for Habanos SA to continue to raise prices, especially when you factor in year over year increase in Cuban cigar sales and the prices that auctions are getting.

I’m glad that I stocked up when I did. Gives me the option to buy or just smoke what I got. If I ever stopped smoking cigars, it would be a good return on investment. That’s not happening anytime soon though.... 😁

Yes, prices are crazy on there. Every time I see something of interest to me the start price is already above what I feel comfortable to pay. And as you wrote, this sets a pace for HSA and some of their special releases are extremely over priced lately. I'm really keen on the upcoming JL Selección Especial so I'm crossing my fingers that they won't go too crazy with the pricing although that fancy box they come in makes me expect the contrary/

Last box sold on the auction site got sold I think for 1400$! That’s just crazy.

I promised myself only to buy more if I find at retail price. Good luck to myself.

Had a chat today with a Spanish guy (Mike you know who), his mate found a box somewhere near Madrid. Retail price is 195€ for a box of 25 😢

You can expect fancy packaging going forward. Part of the plan to move upscale and charge more.

I think we will also see boxes of cigars move from 25 to 20 with a higher price per cigar. You’ll also see a move to 5 cigar retro tins if the Partagas capitolos sell well...

I agree with you on that. I think that this will mean that I'll slowly move back to regular production cigars that I like and only will buy some special releases that I really want. And I'm lucky enough to have build up some stock which means that it won't be much of a problem to reduce my purchases to a box or two from time to time.
