    Rocky Patel vintage 1990 torpedo

Was wandering through Covent Garden, popped in Seegar & Snuff, couldn't resist a splurge on some sticks, bought 3 of the RP's. Couldn't resist the very dark oily looking wrapper, and a strong recommendation from the propietor of Seegar & Snuff.
I also got some CC's I hadn't tried before (Monte Regatta Open among them, apparently a great 30min smoke)

Smoked one of the RP's on the deck of the Thames Clipper on the way home (don't know if you're allowed but it was so quiet don't think anyone cared!)
Great stick, smooth, tons of flavour but not overpowering, still going strong less than a 3rd through by the time we got to Greenwich Pier.

I had to delay my journey home so I could enjoy the remainder, had a wander round the open air market whilst slowly finishing the stogie (How uncouth am I, Zino would turn in his grave) carefully hiding in doorways to avoid the persistent rain showers.

The RP 1990 has very consistent flavour all the way to the nub, sweet dark choc, kind of sweet vanilla/caramel flavour with tons o smoke.
Very good construction, good burn (even, no touch ups, even on the deck of a boat!)

I'll definitely ask a pal who coming back from the U.S to bring me back a box under his hat.

    Here ?10-12 a stick, ?215 box o 20
    There $170 box o 20

Really enjoyed this, anyone got an Amazon like suggestion of
"People who enjoyed this also bought" for similar smokes?

    Dr

Well this morning i polished of a CAO Black Storm and it was a wonderful cigar, nice and light yet albeit medium bodied, bags of flavours mostly fruity and chocolate, arrived at work and decided i would sit in the car park for half an hour to ensure i didnt waste it by letting it go out and returning to it later.

Attended a Multi Agency meeting at 12 at the Police station and left there at 1.15 which for me was an hour over my working day and before leaving the police station car park fired up a Rocky Patel 10th Anniversary which i enjoyed on my journey home and well into the following 45 minutes. Again thoroughly enjoying this cigar, arrived home and sat in the garden thinking about maybe taking another photo of smoking this cigar in the height of British Summer for the competition as it was pouring down with rain, only to discover the comp had ended.. oh well next time!

Trying to decide what to have this evening, might just have my last Nub Habano, or one of the other two Cameroon torps i was recently bombed, i will decided after ive had my evening meal..

Now on Leave for 2 weeks (yes i know ive only just gone back to work) and looking forward to my much planned camping trip to Germany mid next week.

I poisoned the Thames with half of one of these. By far and away the worst cigar I have ever smoked. Out of interest, who suggested it was great? I've not heard a good word said about the Open range of cigars - the occasional 'less bad' word, but never good...

Glad you liked the RP though - not too bad at all are they.

                        Monte Open

Had read a couple of reviews, 'like a 30 min version No.2'
Am scared now, will cower in corner of garden with another RP 1990 instead.
