I fired up the 1p cigar from CGars whilst driving down the M5 this morning.
I was very surprised by this little offering. Lighting up I got a hint of coconut and a minty (ok it was a split second and subtle) nuance. This combination then took me on a journey
to Worcester
Actually, a very agreeable little stick it was. Thank you CGars
Wish I could say the same for the journey home, when I smoked of my second Oliva Serie V Special Figurado. What a name...what a shame. Leather and cocoa? Nah, old boot and cardboard Shite. My first was a tasty bugger, this was just plain wrong and I didn't finish it. I'm going to do one every month and see how they go.
Celebrated painting the kitchen door and its millions of little frames around the glass bits by retiring to the garage with a HDM epicure no.2. Now I'm a beginner and this looked, well a little big and I had visions of having visions and falling over. Pleasantly surprised by the mildness and creamyness. I smoked it till I near burnt me fingers. Nice. Not an everyday smoke for me more modest sticks will have to be the way forward - Made me feel better about the Mice that had nested in my grain store and poo'ed everywhere.
Decided to break a four month long duck (not smoking indoors), and got away from the misery of weather and work for a couple of hours with a couple of recorded episodes of House and a Boli RC. I was pleasantly surprised at how approachable this cigar was, and how nicely the strength increased as the cigar moved along.
A review is up on the blog (here) and I'll make sure to add my thoughts on the forum's review pages.
Hoyo EL 2007 Regalos - hadn't done one of these for a while & they've come on very well indeed. My box of these is smoking great now.
Upmann Lonsdale (2000ish) - always a worrying year, but when they're nice, they're very nice. 10 years on these sticks smooths them out beautifully - mild one to start with.
Party Lusitania (2007) - Most of my `big' sticks are quite aged, so pleasantly surprised by this youngster - quite a trip from the very first mouthful.
