RyJ Cazadores 1997 - tight draw but lovely leathery taste

  • #2
    Friday 13th November 2009

It has been an ERDM day allround today.Started this morning with a Choix Supreme and then had a Coronas De luxe this afternoon.

Really enjoying this brand of cigars at the moment, so much so that i have not had my usual daytime smoke of the JL Pet Corona for over a week.

I've been eyeing these up lately-will it take the top of my head off without the age or are they palatable with only a year?

Toying with the idea of a Hoyo EE but it's bloody windy by me and an hour and a half in the porch doesn't sound particularly inviting...

First cigar all week: A Juan Lopez PC ('03). A very nice and mostly mellow smoke, which I had whilst drving. It would have been much better stationary and in a room as the waft off this stick was divine, vaguely reminded me of some far off incense (well I've smelled it in an RC church once when I went with an ex-partner years ago) plus of course, THAT was there

The 1997 is the only one I have had and it was medium but like you I know their reputation when un-aged!!

Boli RC for me tonight. I must admit this caught me well off guard on the strength stakes, which surprised me as it's the first time that's happened with these and I'm half way through the box. I'd eaten quite some time earlier and had more than a few drinks already so thought I'd just carry on with the whisky.

Sat in the porch watching Flash Forward on my laptop and not really concentrating on the cigar so I must have been puffing away somewhat. Really wiped me out! Had to go and have a lie down for an hour or two.

Must remember to stay away from the more full-bodied ones if I've been in the pub!

Perhaps I'll invest in a couple of singles and EAT LOTS before I try one.

My Father-in-law and I had a Sig II after dinner while finishing of our wine (04 Bergerac ... recommended). Very nice although mine was a bit of a tight draw...smokable but spoilt it a little for me. Another year in the humi and they will start to come good.
