Today I smoked a Plantation Reserve Corona and a Cuban Crafters Cubano Claro.
The Plantation Reserve was a little tight but burned well. The Cubano Claro was just a great cigar.

Had a very enjoyable afternoon and evening smoking with Deano.
I started with a Vegas Robaina Maestros (RE Spain). This was a bloody good cigar. I am not a Vegas Robaina fan, luke warm in general on this brand but gosh this is a jolly good smoke, if you can, try one, honest! Lots of flavour from the start which changes as you smoke but never in a displeasing way, a cigar that just keeps on giving.
Next was a Saint Luis Rey Pacificos (RE Asia Pacific). This was a light to medium smoke, very "green" (box was dated from early this year). Worth a smoke, but as the first of the day. Amongst those present the opinion was that with a few years this would improve but I was underwhelmed until the very end of the cigar.
The final cigar was the real disappointment of the day for me. At the London herf Ajay kindly gave everybody a San Cristobal Maralla (LCDH). I seemed to have misplaced mine along the way so made a point of trying one to see what I had missed. I was just so underwhelmed by this cigar. It started out with some pleasing flavour but soon went dead. The final third picked up a little as you would expect but really, for such a large cigar I was bored. I was expecting something full bodied, flavoursome and with a good amount of punch to it. I got very little of any of these until well into the final third. I spoke with a couple of fellow smokers who really know what they are talking about and they shared an interesting opinion. They like the Muralla but from the original release, not the production cigar. I have no information on this but apparently the original production run of this cigar was something special and the current cigar pails in comparison. This may be just in part to the age that the original sticks now have on them but also I suspect a different blend is also to blame.
I will take this chance to mention the Bolivar Simones (RE Canada). This is another bloody good cigar, I strongly suggest you try this and the VR Maestros if you can.
Good smoking everybody...

I am glad you agree about the RE cigar. You purchased a box, lucky so and so. LOL
