  • Tuesday 6th October

I can't remember the last time I was first to post in this section but here goes.

(I was going to post as Tuesday 4th October as it appears to be a trend to have more than one 4th October but that would be churlish)

Well I started the day in stella company at the Lainsborough with a Trinidad Reyes accompanied by a glass of Krug champagne. For one reason or another I only got about half way through it but it makes me want to go get a box I love them so much.

After a light luncheon I moved on to one of the new ERDF UK regional edition 2009 which I managed to get 3/4 through before I had to head out and I finished it on the short walk down to Davidoff.

Excellent cigar for me, just the right size and strenth.

Got a great Cohiba Behike story which needs a bit of work then I will post...

I spent a part of my evening unwinding with my first ever cohiba siglo II; and very nice it was too!

Attempted Por Larranaga petit Corona but impossible draw so binned...

Moved onto a Monte No.5 with a strong coffee which was very satisfying...

        Cheers, HabanoSy

Punch Royal Selection No12. Very strong flavours of chocolate and coffee at the start. Was a little plugged and had to relight a couple of times but otherwise a decent cigar. Probably a much better cigar had it not been so troublesome. Would have another given the chance to compare.

            New for 2009

Did another run-through of the new for 2009 sticks :

Trini Robusto T : Beautiful Trini flavours to begin with - first 1/2 of this cigar was wonderful. Bit confused and muddy in the 2nd half though. Want some of these to age.

            H. Upmann 48 : Toffee Angel Delight to start with - again slightly muddled after halfway.

Boli Petit Beli : Much more beany than the Upmann - coffee and strength. Much improved after the 1st one I tried.

RyJ Duke : Quite mild compared to the 2 above - buttery, creamy start reminded me of the Swiss RA Eminencia ER (?!).
