  • Friday 25th September

Today I started the day with a large mug of English 'Joe' - Earl Grey and one of Rokkitski's wonderful Georges Reserve.

I am not aware of the origin of the tobacco or the exotic nature of the blend but they are a delightful cigar with a light wrapper and a full but not overpowering flavour.

Beautiful even burn and great ash quality.

I recommend them highly and for those of you lucky enough to have been bombed by Gentleman George I trust you will enjoy yours as much as I did.

I enclose a picture just to show how it left a beautiful vein trail in the ash, Nice one!

I really enjoy george's reserve, REALLY easy going smokes, behave well and are all around great, the red/gold on the conneticut wrapper just looks 'simple'. I like em!

Must buy a box some time

Also my smoke of the day will be a Jose Marti Churchill. Im not sleeping tonight as I'm going away to Woolacombe,Devon, so I will enjoy this after a chinese take away, a film possible, then 2 hours to myself with this stick, it will probably spool over into saturday morning. Reason I do this is I can sleep in the car on the way, rather than being wide awake for a 4-5 hour journey, bleh!

I managed to find some information on the Geroge's reserve sticks here.

...made by the Oliva Family in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend starts with dark, fully-aged Nicaraguan longfillers that are rich in flavor and remarkably smooth. An African Cameroon leaf binder harmonizes well with the earthy Nicaraguan tobaccos, while a silky Ecuadorian wrapper completes the mix....

Just tried to smoke a Secreto from a box of 10 that arrived this morning from CoH. Draw was a complete bugger, borderline plugged, still what smoke I got tasted great. I think I will need to leave these for a couple of weeks to breathe before I try again.

My second ever JL2. What a difference to the first one and not in a good way. This was a bugger to keep lit and burned uneven. Also like the 1st one it felt pretty loose. Was hard to get a good amount of smoke from it without making my cheeks touch together. In the end I ditched it just after 1/2 way.

Both were from 1001cubans so am wondering if it was maybe just a bad box as many others rate it highly.

                              lovely those d'oros

had a monty 2 in the sun today. absolutely beautiful. one of those well needed stress-relievers.
interesting, i find with all cigars especially this one, the flavour renews itself when you ash it.
