before the ban I was a regular at La Casa in Soho, they were always a bit stuck up in there, I caught staff in there blagging things I knew not to be true a few times. Havent been in a few years however so it may have improved... Everytime I walk past the place its packed so they must be doing something right I guess....

I have been and continue to be a regular patron for several years, before the smoking ban even and have not once been sold a dud or detected anything dishonest. If I select a cigar and it fails to draw they replace it with no questions asked, like ANY good supplier.

Anyway, my herf day...
Jimmeh (James) and I got stuck in traffic on our way to London. Many of the roads had been closed to motor traffic as some event consisting of dozens of lycra clad hippies on bicycles concluded in the middle of the city yesterday. The same day as many other events, GENIUS!
Due to the horrid road traffic we had to skip starting the walk at the sculpture and headed straight for Dunhill. We selected our cigars in the humidor before the large contingent of the main walk arrived and had coffee and the first smoke of the day as our breakfast. I started with the Magnum 46, interesting but not bold enough for me.
The tour arrived and we said our hellos. So many people all giving two names, very confusing. NicWing joined myself and James on the terrace and we had a good chat while the main group selected smokes. Many elected to purchase the special cigar that Howard at Dunhil had arranged to be available at a special price. Thanks to James and NicWing for arranging this.
Sautters was next and furnished some cigars on special offer as usual. James and I fell behind the main group at this point as we had some dealings to conclude at Sautters. We missed the Bentley visit and viewing the humidor at Linleys. I dragged James into the Beretta shop as I need a gun serviced. We awaited the main group at Davidoff and met a few of the fourm members there as they too had arrived late. Davidoff was the most welcoming I have ever known them to be, good on them, for once. A beverage (and some had food) at the pub followed and many interesting conversations commenced. JJ Fox hosted following lunch but the humidor felt wrong so I purchased nothing. James and I left the group again after lunch when they went to do the war rooms, something I have done several times before.
We went for a smoke in La Casa and met some of the other crew there. I had a Partagas Lusitanias (my taste for Partagas is growing, but still Hoyo reigns supreme for me). We joined the main group again at the venue and I enjoyed a 98 Hoyo DC, joy as usual although oddly sweet in this particular instance.
Nic continued to be informative and Deano almost managed a few smiles but was a good host none the less (JOKE before you get your knickers in a twist). Simon Chase was excellent as usual and good to see again. I was very pleased when Ajay arrived as his enthusiasm is infectious.
The evening was jolly good, I made a few laugh by being my usual miserable sod self and James took all my comments on the chin as usual, good lad. So many people continued to be generous but that has been mentioned and thanked for repeatedly elsewhere.
I had the very kindly donated short Churchill as I walked along the river after the event to meet friends in a club.

yeah to be honest i think both times it was quite young new members of staff and it was probably an unknowing mistake! ive bought many cigars from la casa and never had a problem, just this one.Originally posted by Big_T_UK View Post

He would, indeed, be horrified to learn that someone was given a siglo V instead of an esplendido!
It's a great place in my opinion (I go most saturdays), and in no way stuck up.
The humidor is good, and the cigars top quality in my experience.
