Had a great day catching up with some old cigar buddies and then a cracking night meeting some new ones. Venue was spot on for a herf, good work Deano and Nic. My smokes for the day...
RyJ Dukes (or Doo-kez, as I was told by the lovely cuban lady in Fox's, she was right about it being a brave choice for a first smoke of the day)
1996 Monte 4, gifted from Bnelly and enjoyed with lunch and a few beers in the American Bar.
PL Belicosos Extra, brilliant cigar, must get more
RyJ Short Churchill, gifted from Deano care of CoH, nice young smoke.
Upmann Mag48, interupted by a rain shower but, like the Dukes, could still tell that it needs a bit of time to mellow and release the flavours.
Cohiba Genios, getting better and better, a good strong cigar for a closer.

P.S Lascaux are you sure it was a Siglo IV LOL?I have to laugh when I think of the first cigar, because it was probably just a bunch of rolled up tobacco leaves?

BOTL...Was really great meeting you all yesterday....
Great day that sarted with a Punch Regional, then the day went from one cigar to another...
What with the booze and brandy night cap, I am a little fuzzy on what I smoked, needless to say the missus said she didn't see me without a fine puro in my mouth all day....All help to remember would be grateful...
A few gifted cigars too, which was great..
Spent today walking round Covent Gardens with a Partagas Serie P, and now back up in the Sunny North..Love Life - Love Cigars

Great day, thanks to everyone for coming, had a great time - was bloody knackered at the end of it though!
Smoked at least 7 cigars on the night, dunno how I did it.
Thanks for all the gifting and participating in the raffle.
Thanks to Simon Chase and Ajay for turning up and sharing their cigar knowledge.
Awesome night, and not too much rain!

Experienced my first Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure n? 2, very nice cigar, the best until now, a bit strong at the end, i?m still not very used to robusto?s. I liked the flavors and the long time it took to enjoy it. Definitely a cigar i will often buy in the future.

I have to agree with you however about the strength, the first time I smoked it I thought I would smoke a second one straight afterwards.
But if the Epicure 2 was a boxer it would be a middle weight who knocks out it's more unwary opponents in the 13th round.Nic

but even better, i bought one of the H&F vintage esplendidos in the cigar shop in selfridges on a separate occassion only to find the same thing, they gave me a siglo V.
so word of warning to anyone buying esplendidos in those two stores.Last edited by Lascaux; 21-09-2009, 07:42 AM.

Ok, I have about a million things to write and post, but I have to jump to the defence of La Casa in Wardour Street. One of the more senior members of staff, I think the manager of the cigar room (I do not remember his title) is a friend who I have known some time. He is young, yes, but WOULD NEVER KNOWINGLY "rip somebody off". I do not know who served you when you purchased the Cohiba in question, please private message me as I intend to have a word with my friend. He would be horrified to know we are giving them bad press in a way that suggests they are dishonest and will want to investigate this I suspect.
He is a good chap, I think it is one of the better places to smoke, along with the Boisdale in Belgravia (but Ajay in Teddington knocks them all into a hat). I will write my post about the day shortly.
