Sometimes the stars align just right. I wanted to grab a quick cazadores for grilling the red dear back, and then I came across this wine that I saved. During my 35 years of wine interest I did a lot of experiments, some where to save some of the fabulous late nineties vintage wines from all over for 15 to 20 years and see what substance they were really made of. This is a Moulinier Les Terrasses Grill?es from 1998, a fabulous wine when released - I drank cases of it. And I saved one - and opened it today. Oooomph. Few wines that I know will come close to this diamond - and at 15 ?! Sometimes you may think 20 year old wines are dead and gone - but when carefully selected they will shine like diamonds in the sky[emoji41]
The cazadores is a good RYJ go to cigar. It has the strength, but it withers to grey ness when paired with the wine.
Midas how was the Davidoff? I've got one in the humidor to try. The short robusto version I tried a while back was really good.
Friday! Off for two weeks so taking it easy tonight. This is the second last of a CAO Sampler I got. The CAO Gold, paired with a beer and Havana Club Especial.
