No idea what I should be tasting, but starting my cigar journey with the more budget side of things.

Seemed pleasant enough, I definitely noticed a change in flavour from the first few puffs where it seemed harsh. Definitely improved in the middle, before getting harsher again towards the end.

Has anyone had one of these recently and able to tell a novice what he should have been tasting?...

You'll have to see if a mod will ammend the title for you, someone should be able to help.

Can't say I've ever tried that cigar but if the start is harsh are you being careful not to overheat on lighting as this can cause this if burning hot

That might have been what it was actually... I had a torch lighter and couldn't see the flame in the sun, so did make a bit of a mess of it to be honest lol
