I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday and I sat with Edward Sahakian at Davidoff in London . It was the first day of the release of the 2009 limited edition Cuban Cigars and I sat with him and smoked one of the new H Upmann Magnum 48 Limited Edition 2009.

It’s a great cigar, not to strong, which is ideal for me. It is made with tobacco which as been aged for a minimum of 2 years. Edward had smoked one the day before and he says they will age very well.

I sat with a friend and tried one of my new (young) Monte No 2's.

I don't know if it was the Pappy Van Winkle 15yr old bourbon but this was a great smoke, one of the best I have had in ages.

Get a box of Monte No2's and put them away, if mine are anything to go by they are on great form at the moment.....NB had a Monte sublime on Sunday and all I could think about was the realisation that the No 2 had been better!!!

I'm writing this weekend in retrospect as I've been away camping. I'm a little unsure about some of them as I bought a bottle of Jura in Tesco as it was on offer, and have been enjoying it with most of them.

Friday night however I do recall that I had a 1999 Punch DC, courtesy of Luxsuk (received at our Cardiff herf). My first cigar of this size and I certainly enjoyed the extra smoking time it gave me! I'll be seeking out further sticks of this size.
