I can't believe that I have the honour to start today's thread!

Anyway, to get the thread going I'll describe my first cigar of the day:

It was an Indios Puro Viejo (Toro) sent me as part of my massive cigar.com sampler I received a few weeks back. Here is part of the description gleaned from the cigar.com website:

Puros Indios Viejo is mild to medium in body and maintains a light complexity due to its Brazilian, Dominican, and Nicaragaun long leaf fillers. These fillers are then wrapped with an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf that adds a hint of spice to the finish, cleverly masked by floral notes of earth.

I am not sure (I never am) about the "wine tasting notes" at the end but I can say that this was a damn fine cigar to smoke. Easy draw and good burn together with a fine medium flavour.

well today i played some top notch golf if i do say say myself, with a nett 63..and the round was very well accompanied with my first ever RP 1992 vinatge torp. And can i add what a veritable scrumptiuos stick it was, easy lit , extremly easy draw, great burn and a spicy earthiness all the way through.

And on the way home, mx5 , roof down, shades on ,sun shining and a fonseca cosacos stuck in me gob...happy chappy today..

How do you find the Cosacos? I got a box last year and I found they are quite an acquired taste to get used to. Not unpleasant but different from the other sticks I normally have.

Had a RyJ cedro this morning (thanks Giulio) and am almost down to the nub on a JL2, sipping a nice, red pre jerk chicken and salad.

Looking at getting something else out later if possible.

the cosacos i suppose is a little different, think they need to be in the humi abit longer. the first one i had was as tight as a nuns chuff, but subsequent ones have been getting better (as suggested i dry box em from 1-2days before smoke them). they tend to start off quite spicy for about the first 3/4 inch then settle down mid section before that spicy returns with avegence at the end. i would say you get used to them in the end.

Partagas Black Classico today. My first non-cuban and I know it's not supposed to be one of the finest NCs but I have to say I wasn't keen. Kind of similar all the way through, not very complex, and a strange rubbery taste (being a bit unfair here - that sounds worse than it actually was but I can't think of any other way to describe it).

Great burn and perfect construction to be fair. Looked the part too.

Anyway, my alternative choice was a Monte Edmundo so at least I still have that to look forward to at some point!

La Fuerza

Just finished an SC La Fuerza. Not a brand that I have smoked a lot of but this was an excellent cigar in all departments. The Mercaderes was a real find last year and this one is another cracker from SCdlH.

Bugger Olls, shame about some of these sticks that really look the part, but fail to deliver.

Nice stick the SCs aren't they SpaceM.

Not long finished off a Boli CJ (no more for a week or two, whilst they rest, but couldn't resist) and a few glasses of Cava (semi seco)

Burn problems all the way. When the ash fell off I discovered why - the central ligero slow burning leaf just wasn't centred. It was placed to one side of the cigar. The result was the dreaded 45 degree burn all the way through. Not a great cigar anyway. I've had a lot better.

Ended up with a trusty Vasco da Gama.

Myself, I had an FdC Selectos on the drive home this evening.
