What a gorgeous morning. Thought I'd celebrate the fantastic weather by sitting in my garden for the next 2 hours and smoking a Tabernacle double corona.
So drawing on Emaresee's good advice that a cigar doesn't have to be expensive to be good here I am starting the day with a La Aurora Principe corona that you cab pick up for a euro each in Spain. This is a chocolate infused cigar, you can smell it on the wrapper but you can't taste it although some people can also smell it in the smoke. What you do get is a very smooth, light and flavoursome smoke that's perfect for the morning. These are made from the off cuts of La Aurora's bigger hand rolled sticks. Oh, and Tucky and I have found the ladies like them too!
Genuine question though - I'm partial to porters/stouts, but almost never have any in the summer months

I hear what you're saying. It's hardly a refreshing summer drink, but I love stout. In hindsight I would have probably enjoyed it more once the sun has gone down but I wanted to try this one.

Surprisingly it's a vitola I haven't tried before, despite starting my Havana experience on several boxes of No4's. On opening this 2004 tube the smell was very rich. The wrapper very dark & if it was a blind tasting I wouldn't have guessed it's humble origin. However aging in a tube had done wonders for this example & perhaps gives credence to the belief that better quality stix are put in them. Can't say I have noted this before but it's comforting to believe these tales.
Lasted 50mins & was as full a flav as I can recall from any Monte. Perfect burn & draw, flav constiant until the last 1 1/2 " when I rested it. I have quiet a few Monte Tubos, including some '70's tubes but now I won't turn my nose up at it's little brother. Enjoy your Sunday smoking!

Round 2 is a RyJ Cazadores from a trade with Simon. Only just started it but very very smooth and mild. It's a firm draw, which I prefer. So long hard puffs working well.
Wrapper looks dry mild aroma from the wrapper. But certainly more flavor than that suggested. And an easy cool retro on it. Nice.
This is a great format too. This one's 2001! And certainly lives up to expectations for a good old stick.
Thanks Simon.

Glad you're enjoying it Banos, past it's punchy Hunter style perhaps but still a superb outdoor smoke, enjoy!
