Short smoke while I wait to hear what the other half is up to. Joyous little M5 from at most 2012 from the band. This was the mini hitchhiker from a recent Rob purchase. I do really like an aged Monte.

A little tight on the draw but smooth and aromatic.

Those old 5s are real crackers! The recent ones not so much.

Punch Churchill (2006) - 12 years this cigar has spent stewing in its own juices, and it was a beautiful mixture of sourness, tea, vanilla, and wood, and the last couple of inches brought with it some serious and unexpected spice. Beautiful.

Sounds like a good cigar Greg. Never tried this one.

The next instalment of my holiday cigars - SCdlH El Morro. Very different to the HDM DC I had yesterday but appealing to an entirely different section of my taste buds. Dark chocolate aftertaste which is very nice indeed, slight sweetness mixed with nutmeg and maybe a bit of cinnamon. There?s a warmth from a little white pepper but not what I would consider a peppery cigar. Very nice and hard to say it?s better or worse than the HDM DC yesterday. For that reason:

                      1. HDM DC
                      1. SCdlH El Morro

Maybe that will change on reflection.

                      To be continued...

Just finished my first ever Monte media corona, I should have known better than to smoke a cigar that only arrived in the post this week but I couldn’t resist. Great construction and draw but terrible burn issues, these have definitely arrived wet. A bit bland at the start but the finish was good. Earthy tobacco flavours along with muted cocoa that built in both prominence and sweetness as the cigar went on. Disappointing but full of promise all things considered. No picture because I was watching the football on my phone.
