I think yesterday was the first day nobody on hear had a cigar/pipe....can someone please light one up today...surely we can't have two days in a row...I'd love to have one...but the cutting cold and flu has wiped me out.

I am usually smoking most days, but this damn cold (Illness not Beast) put me out of action for a week...

Maybe tonight i could try and ease myself in with a HUHC...
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

Enjoying a relatively mild and sunny Spring day in Aberdeen with a '99 Fonseca Delicias and a nice beer at CASC.

Just wanted to update to say that this is one of the best ncs ive had in ages. The flavour reminds me of the filling in those kinder buenos. Was going to split this box but i might end up keeping the lot. If only it was a bit warmer and i wasnt shivering!

94/100?! You have got to be having a fucking laugh Cigar Aficionado! Yes it was a well constructed cigar that burned perfectly and even remained alight when I went back to the house for another drink and a crap but the fifth best cigar of the year? It is mild and smooth and that is where it ends. No particular flavour stood out and eventually I got bored with it. Its the ideal cigar for a long evening with friends when the occasion counts for more than the flavour of the smoke. It left me wondering just how much advertising Alec Bradley buys in the magazine. For those who are interested it is a 7" x 49, apparently the perfect size to savour this particular wrapper.

I smoked 3 cigarillos today, a r&j, cohiba then a monte this eve. I have enjoyed lots of skinnies and minutos before but this is the first time I?ve had a number of these tiny smokes & I was interested to see how they compare for flavour. They were true to their brands for flavour & all enjoyable. The Sun shining definitely helped!

Finally got back onto the smoke wagon after being rudely thrown off it due to a cold a week ago- started with an old faithful Montecristo 4 (2010) from a magnificent box I?m smoking through. However, either I picked a dud or my senses are not quite up to scratch yet, it was a nice smoke but I could only discern woody spice. Also, this one had a very dark ash whereas the others were very white.

Still, it?s good to be back where the fun?s at!

oh, I got one of these in a CAO sampler... looking forward to try it. I've heard that Brazilian tobaccos are regarded as the closest you get to Cuban tobacco, but it's quantities are very limited and they are hard to come by in large quantities.

I might be naive, but I don't believe that CA has companies buy the rating.

Maybe we should have everybody rate the COTM on a point system. I am sure you'd get a wide spread of ratings. Tastes differ and you will never find 100% consensus... So far I haven't been disappointed with cigars that made the top 25. Sure, I would hardly call them the best cigar of the year, but then again, I didn't try them all...

I never said they buy the rating but it would be naive to think that there is no correlation at all between ratings and advertising sales. The system is flawed in my opinion anyway because last years winner is nowhere to be seen. Surely it must still rate somewhere in the table, after all the Bolivar BF is still up there.
