I cannot fault the construction as it was pristine, but the flavours did nothing for me at all - all the wood and pepper makes for a dry smoke, and I found myself craving a splash of cream, a zing of zest, or a jolt of chocolate. Alas, it was not to be!

Though I do like to smoke a Partagas every now and again to see if my tastes have changed, at the moment they have not!

Hear a lot of people say the exact same thing. "Impeccable construction but not for them"

And then the others, "impeccable construction and the best Robusto out there" 🤣

Least the construction seems up to scratch

Haha! Yes, they have nailed their construction, if they’d only dispense that knowledge to the other factories...

Glad I’m not the only one out there that cannot find the flavour in these smokes! Goes to show you how everyone’s tastes are unique!

I feel the same way about the D4 but I love an 8-9-8, an Aristocrat or even a D5

I had both and 8-9-8 and an Aristo last year, but i think both were too young, and far too peppery. I aim to smoke another one of each this year and see how they're coming along!

I agree. D4 's are very average to me but I love all other Partagas. The Lusi's, P2's, 898's and Culebras are some of my favourite cigars but I always find D4 's to be bland.

This Upmann nr2 tonight has been near perfect. It's not often I'm still trying to smoke it when it's like this:

Monte Open Jnr. Ok but don't think I'll bother with another one.

Yeah, I've had a few of the Monte Open line and never understood why those things sell. They are most certainly not my thing.

Same after just one open Master.

I've a couple of Open Eagles in the humidor that I will try out of curiosity. I've had these for about 5 years. So will see.
