Finest Cuban custom shirt piramides. Bought some after PeeJay ran them as COTM a few years ago. 5 year old age Cuban leaf rolled by a RyJ roller if I remember the detail right...

This ones had two years in a cedar lined haven and is a joy. Smooth light sweet and easy drawing.

Arturo Fuente Anejos #46 - quite a distinctive flavour to this one. You'll recognise it if you have smoked many maduro NCs but this one is ramped up somewhat and nothing like any Cuban out there. Its hard to describe but its like slightly bitter black coffee with a mineral edge and definitely an acquired taste but I enjoyed it.

Half way day through my trip offshore & thought I'd treat myself with a wee smoke. Took out a Fonseca Delicias 1999 that I was gifted by Brother Wigan. He promised me it was better than modern production & urged me to try it, whilst the still had some left. Unfortunately I didn't get to manage that & it was his post saying all were sold that prompted me to finally try it.
Having cleared taking half an hour off from the OIM, to claim back a little overtime, I made a coffee & settled into a comfy seat in the Smoking lounge. Choosing 14:30 to start meant I wouldn't be bothered by fag smokers for half an hour. Or at least that was my plan, what I hadn't allowed for was those watching the Scottish Cup!

I punched & lit up easily. Perfect draw & long ash, in fact I managed to keep it on for half the length of the stick. It burned perfectly & there was good amount of smoke. The flav was certainly better than I have had before but still 'rough' to me. I like other less sophisticated cigars like Old Belinda's & other Belvederes but Fonseca just isn't a profile that I can get on with. I think this was the first one I managed to finish & I am sure those who have bought them won't be disappointed but it just shows that even though we might share many cigars that we enjoy together, there will always be some they like that we don't & visa versa. Cheers for the gift Wigan, glad to know they used to taste better than current production; just as the current production Belinda's are far different from the those in the '90's.
