A powerful and complex cigar. No pepper though... ☺

Watched the second half of Bladerunner 2049 this afternoon. At 2 hours 40 minutes its definitely a two stick film but superb. To enhance the enjoyment I smoked this CAO La Traviata Maduro Divinos. A good overall Dominican maduro with that classic maduro flavour with hints of black coffee. This cigar had a perfect burn and never needed relighting. That impressive ash dropped in my lap just after this shot!

Greg I was there last weekend! Next time you go to HI, a visit to Sandy Point is recommended. There's a nice beach and tidal lagoon and a small nature reserve down by the sailing club and lifeboat station. Also close by is Drift bar/restaurant in Sparks marina, where you can have a beer and a smoke on their roof terrace!

Hdm Epi No 1 from 2017. Despite being less than a year old it was a very pleasant smoke

And for my sunday night smoke I had a JL petite corona from 2001, one of my secret santa sticks. It started off very mellow and smooth - if this was the first cigar I'd ever smoked it would have been a great introduction! A small issue with plugged cap end, quickly sorted with the perfecdraw really opened up the flavours. milky coffee/nutty, absolutely sublime. Got slightly earthier as it heated up towards the end as I puffed away probably a bit too much gusto but it really highlighted the difference decent age can make to a cigar. I could have happily smoked this for another hour. Thanks Simon Bolivar

Cheers HB, glad you enjoyed it. I too was delightful surprised by these sticks after I found them in the Dubai Duty Free. They were the only aged sticks I could find - 2001 of course can be a dodgy era & tight sticks but the ones I have smoked so far have been fine; glad you had the Prefect draw to enable you to greater enjoy the smoke.

My Father Le Bigoux
Very peppery first third with strong tobacco. Second third lost the pepper and was just strong tobacco then refused to keep alight with a nasty taste. A knot of thick unburnable tobacco which went all crispy / crunchy when squeezed.
Had to cut out that bit and relight but didn't taste nice after so discarded.
Not exactly a cheap cigar either.
I seem to be having a run of poor cigars with at least 10 in the last year having the same knot issues in construction.
Anyone else experience similar issues?

Only one or two, certainly not enough to note and I suspect I may smoke more than you. You must be having a run of bad luck

Ive got a 5 pack of these on the way so hopefully it was a one off! They seem to get very good feedback in the states.

I hope you don't experience the same. Even without that issue it wouldn't be a stick I'd personally buy again as the flavours weren't really my thing. It may be yours though
