Vegas Robaina from 2000. Nice age and nice find... Very mild at the moment, hope it will pick up a bit later.

Undercrown Flying Pig - great construction, great combustion...what a shame about the flavour: all i got was leather and earth; one of the handful of cigars i did not finish (all of them have been the fuller smokes....)

On the plus side; Italian Hands are back!

        Perhaps what the blender intended?

I never doubted his or her intention; simply the torrid effect it hand on my tastes.

Indeed, one's palate also comes into play of course. Lots of people have tried to persuade me that wine doesn't taste like vinegar but to me it does.

Exactly, I also really do not get on well with partagas (the manduro No 1 was an insult to my tastes) - i think any cigar that has base notes of leather/earth just turn me off!

Still, it's all part of the journey, and i expect tastes change over time

The Cuban maduro are far too full and are really terrible when young, with a bit of age they come good and go really well with a sweet coffee.

I didn't use to like Partagas until I discovered the aged ones. I'm still not keen on the fresh ones. Look out for an older 8-9-8 to try and you might be surprised

Thank you for the tip; i will keep my eyes peeled for one with a bit of dust on it, and give it a whirl

Are you sure you have not been drinking glasses of vine vinegar by mistake?
