Same as last week for me I decided just now! Stressful events on the tube. Work rate cut. In need of a cheer up...

So I've not decided what to smoke yet. Will visit the local cigar lounge again this evening.

Any suggestions on what to go with?...

Well in having my best cigar of the year, its a beauty. Lovely flavours.. think quality Cuban tobacco with hints of dark chocolate and a little spice. Really surprised me as I wasnt expecting it. Best of all it didnt cost ?60(lol) it was ?5.50, its a VR famosos 2015.

Disappointing piggy

Early finish today and MLW on a course so it was time to break out a piggy. I've had two toros from this range that I really enjoyed so I was not expecting this to be so different. Construction and burn was perfect and the smoking time was 50 minutes. The first half inch was peppery until it settled down and then it remained pretty constant to the end. With the toros I got distinct cereal notes but none of that here and definitely no popcorn I'm afraid. In addition it had a higher nicotine yield than the toros which leads me to suspect that these might be somewhat fresher. In any case having the luxury of being to leave them alone they're now going to sleep until next summer.

Was it any good?

It was. Smelled good. Tasted good. Draw was a touch on the easy side. Burn was a little lop sided for a bit. Had to relight twice. I'm a slow smoker. But cigars don't usually go out on me.

First light was by match. Heated the foot. Then draw to light it up for a few seconds. Nice smooth. Then went harsh but only for a short time. And settled into a nice quite strong pleasant tasting smooth smoke. Lasted just over an hour.

Was a bit distracted as a couple of others came in and we had a chat. But I'm going got get me a box of these.

Had a VR on holiday with me too. It's on the positive list from then. No notes.

So it's a [emoji869] from me.

Paired with a bottle of lager. 1369 again. Which is quite crisp and clean. A palette cleanser while smoking.
