July has blessed us with one last sunny morning so I decided to revisit the Montecristo Media Coronas. I bought these in 2015 and they were a bit meh. They are now good to go and this one burned perfectly. If tamsitions are your thing this one started off slightly spicy and changed to a warm nutty flavour for the final third causing me to singe my fingers.

Time well spent and how I envy your sunny days! We have some storms on the way so got this one lit while there was time. Regius robusto, glad I waited a little while on this one.

Yesterday I decided to have a rummage through scubadors, as both are pretty well full and I discovered some stuff is forgotten about, including half a box of RyJ Cedros from 2011, still smoking well

You are becoming quite the aficionado, compadre! I appreciate and enjoy reading your brief write-up/reviews of you daily smokes. No doubt, others do too.

          Montecristo Petit Edmundos

Keeping it a Monte Monday I decided to go with a Petit Edmundo from the same year. This was nowhere near as good as the Media Corona and didn't reach the pleasant stage until the final third. Up to then it was quite harsh and not that nice. The burn needed correction twice as well. They are both stored in the same wineador.

I smoked 1/2 a Quintero on the beach but shouldn't have bothered.

That can happen sometimes...occasionally you get a klunker in an otherwise highly regarded puro. I really like the little edmundo, but usually with three or more years on 'em. Based on your post, however, I'll have to give the Monty Media Corona a go next time I'm at the local B&M.

My choice today is a Rocky Patel Special Reserve Sun Grown Maduro Robusto with a cup of fine mexicant capachino. I've read some good things about this stick like dark...strong...complex...earthy....nutty notes and bittersweet chocholate! Doesn't that sound good!?

Anyway, I like that it's a robusto full of Nicaragua leaf wrapped in a dark, Connecticut maduro wrapper. Can't wait to get ito it!

It's a few minutes later and so far...very good! Just look at that ash!

Please do. You'll be glad you did.

But let's not confuse the young knewbeess out there who may not know the history of the UKCF - it's BAG BOY, not don TJ. The don now lives on in the pages of the journals he left behind and the the collective memories of those of us lucky enough to have known him.

                      Philosophically put!
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

One of a couple of singles to try that I added to the box of 10 I picked-up from Shepherd market last week.

                          The don TJ story.

                          Dare away, amigo.

Ol' don TJ stopped posting several years ago and left the UKCF to lead a party of Coros across the dark sea of awareness in search of a seperate reality, aka, the second and third rings of power. He still communicates with me and others from time to time through dreams.

Now, he empowered some of us with posting privileges, (el Pero, Ricky Bobby and yours truly, to name a few) and the responsibility to maintain and manage his UKCF account. I searched for his "farewell" post, but was unable to find it.

Before I came back to take over, Ricky Bobby, a total puro knewbee, was charge with posting duties until such a day as he had gained enough knowledge (power) to join don TJ and the Coros on their definitive journey, which happened sometime last year, I think. You can do a search on his introductory and farewell posts/threads.

Anyway, since Ricky Bobby left, I've been doing the posting ever since.

                          Hope that answers your query.
