This Gurkha Raider whilst I dig out what will hopefully become a vegetable patch.

    Pleasant but fairly one dimensional.

Perfect construction, which I've found with a lot of new world cigars.

I find the Gurkha logo slightly off-putting, as it looks like a fat zombie Hitler.

Fat Zombie Hitler, glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

Epicure de Luxe and a fine Brooklyn East IPA to start the evening.

I have a handful of Gurkhas left in my NC humidor that I got at some German cigar show. I tasted two so far but they aren't really my thing. The fat zombie Hitler is supposed to be a Nepalese warrior (Ghurka) that served in the British Indian forces from the mid 19th century on. The are famous for using a Khukuri which is a huge curved knife that's sharp as hell. Once the knife has been drawn it must taste blood (at least that what I read about it some time ago).

JL Malecon this afternoon. They have not been improving with age.

Little dependable monte 5 to start the evening, hoping to have something a bit more substantial after eating assuming the rain holds off.

I'm glad, PJ! First one I had in Andorra was excellent, but all the ones I've smoked after that have been a disappointment, specially considering the price and vitola, which I don't like either.

Had a JL no.1 which I got asa freebie from a chap who I bought others from. Not bad at all. A bit tight to draw at first but then smoked really well.

gojira The Gurkha regiment still exists! In fact I used to work with a retired /ex-Gurkha. No longer in touch with him else I'd like to get his opinion on the image [emoji85]

I didn't know that and just did some interesting reading on the subject. The image seems to correspond well to the cigar IMO: both are rather bad.
