In this game it was mainly the pitch / the level of skill of the players as this was a local derby and they are both near the bottom of the table

Low skill level on a poor pitch means bad control on 1st touch hence more chance of mistimed challenges and more chance of opposition making a challenge on a loose ball if not controlled or dealt with it escalates to worse challenges then your match control comes into question if you get decisions incorrect or they just disagree which leads to dissent etc
Where as high key skilled players can control the ball on 1st touch and are not challenged as they then create space and move the ball on if however they are in control of the ball it's more obvious to detect fouls and less disagreement when players are penalises [emoji106]
