Started the day with a Vasco da Gama, then had one of my Bolivar (got today) - a petit corona. By gum, you really can't beat a proper Havana - absolutely bloody lovely! Then, later, I had cigar.com Brazilian label robusto. Maybe another Vasco or La Rica later on.

This is a good friend of mine who is a healthcare professional, but who is a reformed cigarette smoker.

I expect we all know one of these.

The guy is a gardener and their garden could come out of one of those Miss Marple shows. You know. That imaginary England that exists on film sets.

My pocket was bulging with a two-stick leather case containing a D4 and a RA SC Corona.

There would not have been a more idyllic place to enjoy a cigar than right there this evening.

We ended up talking about pairing drinks with cigars. Just like we do on here. THEY started this. Not me.

I have to say if I had lit up, the slipstream whiff would have been arousing to just about any sentient creature.

I decided not to push it.

But I think I won for Team Cigar when Loose Women came up in conversation as a great show.

My retort was strong and I seem to remember using fucking and shite and anti-male bollocks in the answer.

It's as camp as having a penis and walking into Accessorize.

I do not think a man should ever do this unless he's a performer. Or loaded with irony.

I missed my smoke tonight. We had a fine night. I can always smoke tomorrow.

I'm so glad my healthcare professional missus rarely nags me about my cigars.

Anyway, my cigars for yesterday (now) - probably my last for a week or so...

Lunchtime I enjoyed a Romeo y Julieta No3 (tubo). I can't comment on the taste particularly as, by that time, I wasn't really concentrating... I remember that I was drinking a Dark Star 'Hophead' golden ale - very nice.


Later in the evening, during the post-beer-festival barbeque, I enjoyed a Cohiba Exquisito. I also gave one to a neighbour who been to the beer festival and smoked occassionally. Again, I can't comment on the experience of the cigar (other than that it was a positive one ) as I wasn't in the most sentient mood at the time...
