I have a feeling either I'm time travelling or this weekend's posts have ended up in last weekend's. Mods please feel free to enforce temporal clarity?!

Anyhow. Pleased to say MLW and I had a herf-let this afternoon.

She had an RyJ Purito which she enjoyed but I find a little bland:

I had a Partagas Mille Fleur, which was smooth, moderately peppery and got lovely into the last third. Tasty enough that when herself had an extravagant puff, I realised I may need to keep a count on the remaining ones:

First of the Upmann Epicures that I bought last week. Unmistakably Upmann but a little harsh at the start and finish and stronger than I expected flavour wise. These would probably benefit for a rest.

      No pic

Drew estate undercown, first for me,peppery with an old tobacco fragrance. Enjoyed it after a big day on hills. Down in lakes for the holiday.

      Cheers [emoji106]

From earlier, a nice aged RASS accompanied by a Porter and some Ardbeg.

Ace looking cross cut double V there. Really shows how a well constructed end cap can hold up (as well as being aesthetically pleasing).

A very good point my moose-man Not to mention the superb skill in wielding the tool to achieve such an effect

Credit definitely where credit is due.

I'd even say it was the way to go with a RASS on the basis of my one solitary (but epic) example. I don't feel it would have benefited from a punch or a single V - it seemed to be on the firmer packed side. Anything less than the artful 2V or the scarily-awesome clipper at LCDH and I think you just wouldn't get a decent draw.

As a person with a RASS box clearly written in red ink in their "must get" list, are they generally on the fully formed and tightly rolled side?

Mmm, no IME, I would think they are one of the most reliable and dependable sticks out there.
