Didn't know whether to put this in Saturday's or Sunday's thread, but it's 04:00 on the graveyard shift at work and I decided to try the COTM.

I think I would pay to be able to smoke while working!

Torano Master Robusto to start the day. Interesting flavour this one, can't pick it though.

The only problem with buying these nice boxes is spoiling the effect but it has to be done unless you're just a collector. This is the La Flor Dominicana Mysterio which I bought in the Dominican Republic in 2014. It contains ligero leaf like the Behikes. Its a decent smoke, mild with a slightly mineral flavour but ultimately boring.

Only had the Dip 2 before trying this, very nice with a large dark rum

A Punch Punch (NC). Very enjoyable, in fact more so than the Cuban Punch Punch that I've had previously, but as with many NC robustos, I've found that I don't particularly enjoy the final third. I never get this from say a D4 or last nights RASS. Different class of cigar, different setting or psychological?

                      Couldn't find anything fresher, Greg?

I'm beginning to believe you guys like older cigars. Now, is it me or is that just PLAIN CRAZY?

I like fresh cigars, at least with 2 years old normally.
I never smoke cigars from the same year, I like them to settle a bit, 12 monts at least so they taste more "rounded", less amonia also.

Some vitolas are nice to have aged.

But please keep buying new ones, and leave the old ones for the weird people as me.

COTM and Olivia O Robusto yesterday.
I loved the COTM. I will be picking some up. I had a guess before opening the envelope but got it wrong.

And that's what makes this fresh vs. old cigar issue sooooo confusing for me. Too bad Stevieboy won't play!

Being a supreme aficionado - especially when it comes to Cohiba 2004 Sublime Edition Limitadas - he'd know what's best!

Haha! That last line is funny, Greg! (LOL)

Thanks for you comments, Greg. But by fresh, I mean just after the cigar is rolled, not one or two years later.

But I think I'm beginning to see the flaw in my thinking, expecially when you consider the so-called Sick Period, which some say lasts a year. So, would it to be fair to say that cigars are like fine wine - the older the better?
