Ages ago I got myself a selection of 'long and skinnies'. The NCs were so unremarkable or offensive that I forget what they were. The CCs included a Cohiba Lancero which was superb, and a vintage Vegueros Especiales which was a bit disappointing. This Trinidad Fundadores is the last of the selection. Very light to start, gets a bit spicy. Not sure it's a winner, but nothing bad about it either. Interested to hear other opinions. image.jpg
oskihen quite rare to find an Englishman who enjoys pastis. I'm a fan myself, but have not yet paired with a cigar. I can imagine they work pretty well together.

A great combination tbh in the summer , and I've had a long love affair with pastis , probably due to spending every summer of my childhood travelling around France with my parents .
Turned me into a true francophile , off to France again in August and installing the same love of France to my children
oskihen Tres bien! My French father-in-law drinks Pastis like water. I'm 50/50 going to Lyon and The Alps this week for a family get together and then a more relaxing trip to Marseille in August so I'll definitely try a few puro/pastis combos then. You got a favourite brand of pastis? Hard to beat Ricard IMO but Henri Bourdain is a very nice one too (owned by Pernod-Ricard in fact).

Yep love Ricard but have several and am trying more unknown brands
oskihen Never heard of the two you pictured - the bottles look grand enough - but familiar with 51. SHAMZ84 Pastis is an aniseed & herb liquor, similar in taste to Absinth and Typically drunk diluted 1:5 with water and ice. Very popular in South of France.

O ok...cheers...if it's like absinth I'll pass...not a drink for me lol.
SHAMZ84 it's delicious but something of an acquired taste. IME most people's experience of Absinthe is nearly always a bad one due to trying it for the first time after several pints etc [emoji12]
Worked a summer in a french gas fire factory as a teenager to improve my french....deep south east, although spent lots of time in S west too.... The foremen of the factory used to love setting me and my mate up with lunchtime pastis, just to watch us fighting the snoozes at our machines by midafternoon!! They were a little suprised at how much 16 yr old rugby lads could consume mind you. The staff lunch room had huge 3 - 5 litre bottles of 51... Which we dented .... Some 25 yrs ago! Nice stuff...!
