not exactly what i said ....

    i did say

IMO the Siglo vi 2010 i smoked recently was for me a more enjoyable cigar than the Cohiba 1966 EL 2011 i smoked last night

i didn't say that any aged cigar is better than a EL , as i don't think that

their are some nice EL,s out there Cohiba EL 2014 Party 2014 2012 , Boli 2014 to name but a few .

With you now wolfie , but some of the limited edition I've had nothing special realy apart from
      Bolivar Petite Belicoso 2009
      Partagas serie D3 2006

      Which have been realy awesome.

for me it was an enjoyable smoke , not a stellar smoke , something new to try on " my special occasion "
earth , dry earth , coffee , cocoa , chocolate and a touch of leather
        a lovely aroma
        all dark flavours and aromas
burn was off and had to be corrected a couple of times
it doesn't have the Cuban twang , that creamy grassiness that maybe you expect from Cohiba and i prefer
it reminded me at times of a fresh CCE , with the same dark flavours and aromas
comparing it ( which i shouldn't ) to the 2010 siglo vi i recently smoked , the siglo vi wins hands down
so 1966 , nice cigar , but i wouldn't rush out to buy another , even at the original price ( paid )
i would go aged siglo vi for that special occasion .
Thanks for the review Wolfie. I've had a box of these in the humi for a while and can't make up my mind whether to smoke them or move them on. I'm a big fan of the SigVI and especially those with a few years on them, blame Tommy for that .

If I had a box of the 1966 I'd sell them on and buy aged Siglo IV with plenty of change leftover to buy something else

Aged vi are indeed a bloody good smoke and I'm lucky to have a fair choice , but they aren't the be all and end all imo there are plenty of other damn fine cigars to enjoy .
I will say that the secret to unlocking the real pleasure in a cigar is either patience to age your stock or deep pockets to buy aged stock . Remember even a cigar you smoke now from 2014 which imo is going to be a real classic year may be very good but I'm damn sure it'll be even better in another ten years

              LOL ,

these two cigars are total opposites , light and dark , night and day

the siglo vi for me is by far the better cigar

if i had a box of EL 2011,s , now having tasted both , id sell the EL 2011 ,s and put my cash into the siglo vi

if you need a contact for some aged siglo vi , where i got mine from , pm me .
