Late start today so slipped out to the cabin with a Hoyo du Roi from 2001, first mouthful was delicious but then it turned out to be plugged beyond redemption so I ended up slumming it with a 2010 JLP
After a busy day on the herf shack , just enough time for a huhc and a mojito before getting ready for family dinner at my local. Celebrating my dad's birthday
a Nub Maduro (464..? big pyramides whatever its number is... ) ... it didn't want to fully light at first, but suddenly smoked up really rather well. All ends up it wasn't the most remarkable stick i've ever had, but was perfectly pleasant and smooth all the way through. Had a slightly more closed draw than the other nubs i've had, which wasn't a problem at all. I do like nubs but they typically draw like an open drain pipe. Not massively 'maduro' but as we were burning leaves at the time I suspect the flavour profile may have been masked a touch!! I smoked it till my fingers burnt, so clearly enjoyed it...but sucker punched myself with a 30 min Vitamin N buzz straight off the back... which wasn't wholly unpleasant either!!! "Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)
So do you smoke these nice sticks before you go out sludgie or is this after you got home? Loving the smoking jacket, really hope they make a comeback so I can pull them off.

I'm normally a 'home herfer', so I've had these whilst just kicking back at home. I do take some nice cigars if I do go out to a function or bash somewhere. Always good to be prepared!
