A blind taste test for me today while tidying up the garage and sorting out my fishing equipment, courtesy of PeeJay.
A really nice smoke with plenty of punch. No idea what it is though, but I liked it.

That my friend was a 'fake' BHK56 bought in Cuba, I enjoyed the one I had too. Thought I might mess with your mind and all that advice you got about buying in Cuba.

Had a partagas short for breakfast which was awesome! And a flor de la antillas for lunch, didn't think it was anything special to be honest and the draw was way too loose.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

La Flor Dominicana TCFKA Mysterio for me tonight. A real work of cigar making art!

This was from a British guy with a Cuban wife who lived and worked in Cuba. He has now returned and brought about 350 unbanded cigars with him. Apparently in the expat community if you want cigars you place an order with a middle man and they turn up in 2-6 weeks, like this. I read exactly the same thing in a book that MarkLondon lent me about expat life in Cuba in the 80/90s and the proof as they say is in the smoking. I enjoyed the one I smoked too.

PS the book said if you suspect them of being made of junk just gently bend them. A long filler won't snap but one filled with junk will.

PeeJay, fake, copy or un-banded, looks and sounds like it was an enjoyable smoke...

It really was a great smoke. Had me completely done over.
