Sadly no pics today, but I had a Dunhill Aged Reserve Especial from 2003. At 54 and 5 1/2 long it was a big old stick, but was a solid hours smoke,mthat could have been eased out to beyond 90 mins by a more steady paced approach. I was on a time line for a late train so had to ejoy and run!
Really mellow, gentle accomodating and easy going smoke that slowly built up from light toasty notes, to something a little nuttier and hints of leather with a steady increase in complexity as it went along. I think it would make for a decent stick at all times of day unless you were after a gutsier flavour profile. Might be lost after a big feast mind you.
We sampled it with some rather nice city of london distilled gin; Christopher Wren Gin and some different tonics produced by Merchants Heart... They have two called 'head' and 'heart' the former being light and zesty, the latter a warmer slightly peppery tonic... Fascinating and they both complemented the stick suprisingly well.
