As [MENTION=13431452]RobBooth[/MENTION] was generous enough to bomb me one of his favourite sticks I decided to go with this La Aurora 100 Anos robusto today. As always a beautifully constructed stick from the Dominicans but I didn't get any chocolate off it. Apart from an initial burst of pepper from it that stayed hovering in the background for its entire duration I got a slightly astringent flavour for the first half that can only be described a cross between liquorice and boot polish! Into the second half when the ash dropped and that went away to be replaced with a slight coffee note.

Monte White. Not bad. Prefer the Cuban variety though.
