As they say: ?The best laid plans ..... ? This was meant to be a serious review, but thanks to a sudden downpour I ended up with two wet ashtrays instead.
Doesn?t look much really, just a ubiquitous Monte Petit Tubos, same as you can buy in Waitrose or Oddbins and which Newbees buy in the same way they buy condoms, to be put in the jacket pocket for one night only, ?cept this one is 2001 and never been out of its tube.
In a nutshell it looked like some gnarled, old Sicilian fisherman?s ring-finger with a band so faded it looked part of the wrapper. In fact it appeared so desiccated and felt to firm at the foot I expected hard work and no flavour whatsoever .... Wrong!
It smoked like a dream, had one of the richest barnyard pre-light aromas I?ve ever experienced and just delivered and delivered on flavours .... woods, fruits, liquours all in perfect harmony. Just blown every Cuban PC I?ve ever smoked out of the water. Tremendous cigar!
The moral of the story. Just because it's everyday or in a tube doesn't mean it can't be one of the best smokes you'll ever have!
Started off with the H Upmann LE 2012 that arrived as part of my secret santa package but unfortunately it was plugged. Quite gutted as flavour wise it showed a lot of potential. Am now smoking my Diamond Crown Julius Caesar Robusto. A VERY different smoke. Not quite what I'd planned for but a new experience for me in the NC world.l
