But, I've heard more and more people suggesting that they're not bad cigars over the last couple of years. Should I venture from my comfort zone and finally give them another crack

Certainly can't argue with the Havana Club 7 though. What's the Patron though, it looks, well, black...? Don't think I've seen black tequila before.

It is easy to give up on a cigar after a bad initial experience, like you Simon found these horrid but as you say seem to be getting better reviews and if memory serves me our own Nic said they were a much better smoke than when they first came out

The question is though have they changed the blend or are people smoking aged cigars?

So embarrassing- sorry! Yes it was a Regata and it was even written on the label!

      Hangs head in shame!

I'd be inclined to go with the latter Pete. With the global slating on cigar boards, at and after original release, I think they were given a fairly wide berth which might equate to to aged sticks doing the rounds now. Maybe, of course. I've seen '09 Master Tubos sitting on cyber shelves just this morning.

I had one of the range at a wedding a couple of years ago (can't remember which one, but that was a tubo) and it was a straight, tasty and enjoyable, smoke.

Had the COTM on my drive back to Gods Country last night, no pic. Definitely a NC but I'm not sure what. Wasn't terrible, but not really to my taste to be honest.
