Had a veeeery long day today, waking at 3.30am to settle my crying baby daughter, followed by a cycle to work in the rain, a 9hr stint in the office and then a return ride home (in the rain!).
Had to go out for a pint of Guinness to relax and take the edge off of being awake for 17hrs and to try one of my new sticks from Cgars.
I opted for the Alec Bradley Black Market Punk. Quite a full on smoke, went well with the Guinness. Felt well constructed though A bit difficult to get lit, but once going it burnt very well and evenly. Very good draw, lots of smoke, much more than I remember from my last 2 sticks which were a Don Ramos 2 and a Boli 3 a few weeks ago.
I got the feeling this is not a beginners smoke, it's quite full on but really mellowed after the first third. Got a good 35 mins out of it before I had to leave and couldn't finish it, though could have got another 10mins easily.
My untrained pallette unable to give a detailed flavour profile but there was elements of coffee, a slight sweetness enhanced by the Guinness, and an almost grassy/rustic/farmyard(?) element to it for a very short while.
I'll probably try again but there are many others to try before.
