COTM which I'm liking a lot in the sun with a glass of Georgian red wine.
A loose draw, tangy, fermented taste to the smoke which grows bitter if smoked hard. Soft puffs reveal a creamy flavour like a mouthful of steak in pepper sauce. Going down well alongside a strong sweet red wine.

I'd say CC & not one I've smoked before. I didn't bother measuring it but as I have to have a guess I'd say it's a corona gorda perhaps, Allones Superiores is a wild guess but not got a scooby really!
Edit: just remembered it was ?4 so not going to be that cigar!
Do let us know! My last one was 2 years ago and it just tasted bland and off. Shame.
Have they bounced back?
Well. I've finished the Monte. To answer your question - no, not entirely...
I too last smoked one of these about 18 months ago. Then, I felt this cigar had lost its way. It seemed to lack the immediacy it had when it was younger.
Although this stick was better than that one, it was still fairly one-dimensional. The flavours were there, lots of earthy and spicy notes, and age has lent the cigar a smoothness it maybe lacked when it was younger. I was hoping for more complexity however. The flavours and strength seemed to remain fixed and not develop into the second and final thirds. This was not helped by a somewhat uneven burn, which necessitated numerous touch ups and also some funnelling - having to purge and relight on a couple of occasions.
I think they're coming out of the trough they were in two years ago, and I live in hope that more age will see this stick return to glories of its past. I think I am going to leave the four I have remaining and gamble on them continuing to improve further. I won't be touching them for at least another 12-18 months. Hope this helps! I would leave them be for a little while. After all, they're not an easy cigar to come by any more...
