Stuck in Bangkok at the mo, hard life I know.
Cheering myself up after a poor Boro performance with a My Father and a 12yo Hakushu.

I decided to try a Flor de Filipinas as recommended by someone during the week. Sorry I can't remember who it was but you were right, a smooth and mild smoke but mine just wouldn't stay alight so it got binned after the fifth relight.

Just check out that burn!

So to make up for it I had the oldest cigar I've ever smoked, a 1970s Macanudo courtesy of our very own Simon Bolivar. Draw like a drinking straw but a delicious smoke, almost fragrant in its flavour and burned perfectly.

Well not what I expected. Was expecting an over the top flavour profile that blew my head off. Just had that look about it. Was kinda hoping it would, was just in that sort of mood.

Smooth well blended and dam near perfect. Not over the top at all. Smoke so thick I can almost feel it physically move in my mouth. Very impressive!

PeeJay did you leave it in the clingfilm right up to smoking it?

For the two days I've had it, yes.

Did you see what I have been saying about the old ones I got of you? The draw on them was really tight when I tried them straight from the cellophane.
May help with these. I have 5 I keep meaning to smoke but keep forgetting. Want to join in on vintage Fridays

This wasn't the draw, it was bad construction.

We are talking about the Philipino one not the Macanudo?
