Back to KL tomorrow so enjoying hopefully my last ever night in Batam (it's not a nice place, unless you like prostitutes and oil and gas workers)

Had a nice beef teriyaki followed by a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Sumatra with. Bacardi Gold and Coke. Everything has gone really well together.

Stick has some interesting notes, sweet spice at the start but leaves a strong espresso taste on the tongue and lips. Developed a bit more woody and earthy now I think.

This is the second RP that has unraveled on me though, is this a common problem with them?

Both of them look great and better than the Coloniales I've just had [emoji20] 25 minutes which seems a bit quick and it was a bit harsh. Not Trinidad at all [emoji20]

This is a Black Label Trading Company Deliverance corona, Nicaraguan filler with a Mexican wrapper. The burn was perfect although the ash dropped just before I took the photo; into my lap and on the rug I had just hoovered. Once again a peppery cigar but with a clean taste so I stuck with it. Wouldn't buy any though, this was a freebie.

Veguros Mananitas. My first of the new Vegueros offerings. Mostly just raw tobacco if I'm honest, though in fairness I do have a bit of a head cold. There was some 'fruitlike' tastes trying to break through but all the time masked by an light sickly sweet 'soapy' undernote. Can't say I was much impressed really, but in saying that these are young and will hopefully come better. Also, and I found this disturbing, I had to use the cutter three times on the tail, it was very tar prone, even at one puff per minute.

I noticed that fruitiness when I tried Martyn's at 1a, didn't smoke enough of it to get soap though.

It's not a looked for taste, but one which bedevils Cuban cigars occasionally. We're not really sure what causes it, but it comes and goes and can occur in any vitola. I've not experienced it in a NC.

That's a shame, iv really enjoyed Coloniales that Iv had and I think Wigan is a fan too! Maybe just a dud?
