Day off today for the Hindu festival of Thaipusam. Sat in the sun with a quick coffee while I tried a Vega Fina Nicaragua Robusto 25.
Wasn't impressed to be honest. Quite a tight draw at that start but that loosened up after a few drags. Taste didn't change much except then it mellowed out slightly in the middle, then back to same.
I'm not very good at picking out flavours but this wasn't to my taste.
Construction was below average, uneven burn for the most parts and it had a cavity in the filler at one point.
Cheap smoke but I won't be buying another.

Good clear photos though Parnaby. The Vega Fina Perla is a reasonable cheap smoke that's easy to slip in a pocket in the tubo version but like you say, nothing to write home about.

Cracking photos Parnaby. I hate it when you sit down to enjoy a cigar and it turns out to be a disappointment. I was happy once I found a firm fav. I'm also glad that I'm an occasional, or seasonal, cigar smoker!

Just arrived back in the city of my birth, via Eurostar, which I am glad to say is back running on time. So had an hr between trains & grabbed a 3 shot americano & enjoyed a few minutes blissful break from my 12hr hour journey for a 1960's Sumavana Whiff. Delighted with the relative complexity from such a small machine made Cuban leaf, UK rolled stick. :0)

          Hi Si,
When you are smoking your delights out and about, do you get people approach you asking what you're smoking etc - as a conversational piece, especially from fellow BOTL?

Very rarely I am afraid Simon, I usually do the approaching if I see some smoking a cigar or looking interested. Never know when you might met a potential new UKCF member!

Its a good intro Simon and you soon find out if a conversation is worth pursuing.

Had a HUHC on the snowy drive in to the office stuck a party short in a tube that I might light up later.

                  Need a day off.

This is a DAS corona which my neighbour bought back from St Maarten where they're rolled. It had a slight kink in it and the wrapper was unrolling from the foot but it burned okay. It started well with a mild burnt nut flavour but by the second third was becoming bitter and unpleasant and even worse had a cigarette aftertaste hence I am typing this with a mint in my mouth. One to avoid if you go there on a cruise, no idea how much it cost.
