How was it in the end? I've not had a bad one yet.

I stuck with it out of principle. It's a contender for the worst cigar I have ever smoked. It's by far the most pointless cigar I have had, the flavour was so mild it was almost ethereal.

A massive massive letdown.

Edit: and the weird artificial sweetness never went away so I can only conclude that it was ingrained in the wrapper.

on a more serious note, I think many NC cigars may not be as pure as one might like. I think a lot of them have artificial colours and flavours added or the tobacco messed with in some way. Much like cigarette tobacco is. If this is the case smoking them could be more Detrimental to your health than a fine puro.

No way! That is a very sweeping statement. Just because a cigar is NC, certainly does not mean that it has had flavours added and messed with in any way. Some very cheap NC's will be like this, but if it is half way decent it will be HLF and totally unmolested.

I must admit, I just don't get NC snobbery. I had a Partagas short last night. Sure it was smooth and had decent flavours, but not as good as a Honduran Punch for example.
I have smoked limited Havana cigars (Romeo Y Julieta's, Montecristo's and Havana Punch's) and have had better NC's than all of them.

I realise that as with all things cigar - it is personal preference. I am probably fortunate that I genuinely prefer NC's - they are certainly cheaper most of the time.

I'm a NC fan myself many a fine cigar out there , but you still can't beat a good Cuban
