At first I thought...bloody hell Jeremy, ain't it a bit early!? Then I realised...I'm just starting work and you're probably winding down for the evening!
That is one tasty looking smoke though, love the larger Punch's.

Good work Jeremy, I'm jealous that you are enjoying suck a pairing as I have my whisky at night and cigar at work. Not ideal.
Today is my first ERDM Demi Tasse from my one of my birthday Bombs (thanks shudders, an amazing Bomb by the way). A nice little cigar, maybe box worthy as a coffee cigar. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418814000.159052.jpg
It's burning quite fast but not hot. Three to five minutes in:

A lovely little cigar, like a cut down version of a med 4. Well maybe not THAT good but good!
could be worse you could have your whiskey at work and a cigar in the evening
I should have been working 6pm - 5am today but have taken the day off to collect MLW from her Christmas do tonight so I took the opportunity to smoke my La Flor Dominicana Oro Chisel, full review in the appropriate place
Well we didnt make it to chester, so having a bottle of this stuff, I think it is one of the nicest soft drinks I have tasted.image.jpg
Now what to smoke...what will go well with a ginger twist?
I'll keep this one short. Weary and can't face the fight with wifi or tapping away endlessly at the iPhone.
I was back from work early enough to contemplate No.10 in the CA Top 25 for 2013. It's a big old stick - more or less the same length as a Lusitania (the largest cigar I've smoked to date) but a bit fatter too. So, I needed a bit of time and tonight I had it.
Those chaps at CA advise me this is constructed from a "strong, oily, flavorful leaf that leaves an impression on the palate" and "has hearty flavor with a robust nuttiness and a caramel sweetness for balance".
The cigar looked good - a nice dark wrapper, very smooth, with the detailed structure of the leaf visible. It's a pleasing reminder that this is a natural product. The smell was very earthy, even a bit 'agricultural'!
On first lighting it, there was a leathery 'slap in the face'. Then I'm sitting there thinking this is going to be a leathery cigar when it immediately faded and got much milder, almost a tad creamy. There was nothing strong or distinctive in the taste - not overly leathery, woody, coffee or chocolate - all the usual things I find easy to pick out. That's not to say it was dull. I got little hints of fruit, sweetness, toast and pepper at different stages. By the latter stages, there was a clear strong black coffee flavour which I really enjoy in a cigar.
The burn was really uneven and never really got sorted, despite my best efforts. One day I'll get round to researching or starting a thread on the best way to deal with this problem.
There was nothing wrong with this cigar and I'd happily smoke another. However, it says a lot that I can't think of much to write and I've deleted most of my notes because they didn't really add anything. After a few recent cigars which really blew me away, this was more ordinary. Ordinary can be good, the marginally smaller (and cheaper) Oliva O Churchill I had yesterday was the better cigar.
