[Undercover]

Wow. Never started one of these before!

La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva Maximo is No.17 in Cigar Aficionado's 2013 Top 25. It smelled very earthy and had a very grand double band. The flavour is described as "hickory and almond notes that lead into hints of dark chocolate and earth."

I can't honestly say why I liked this. There was so much wrong with it - the wrapper was rough to touch, like a fine grade sandpaper, and the first few draws had whiffs of burnt paper and machine oil! Then it got much nicer, but nothing I could pick out. That's not to say it was tasteless, but it was impossible for me to discern anything in particular for any length of time. An occasional coffee taste, sometimes woody, but never chocolatey.

I can only put it down to my mood. I was looking forward to a cigar this evening and perhaps I was determined to enjoy it regardless. It also seemed to fit with a crisp, chilly evening. I think it's worth trying another to see how I feel next time.

Mixed review there mate, definitely worth trying another as you say and are you smoking outside

I have tried the mi amor normal not reserva in belicoso and has to date been one of my favourite cigars absolutely loved it

Glad you enjoyed it! Its been a while since my last post (too many hobbies vying for my time! ) However had a ERDM demi tasse tonight. ...not wanting to be ambiguous..i will say this. ..it was rubbish!

That's given me another good reason for trying another. I liked it, just can't put my finger on why. Not one of my favourites, but I definitely want to smoke another.
