I'm pressing on with the Cigar Aficionado Top 25 for 2013 (hope that doesn't make it sound like a chore!). My Father Le Bijou 1922 Box Press Torpedo is at No.19. They tell me this "pressed smoke delivers a red-pepper spice that evolves and sweetens, taking on a distinct cocoa powder and coffee bean character, yet remains balanced."

I enjoyed it from the moment it was lit, notwithstanding the fact it is an attractive cigar, with a dark oily wrapper finished with an impressive double band and orange trim. There was a definite but subtle sweetness on the tongue and an inviting aroma. I didn't get anything spicy until about halfway through and only for a short while, but there was certainly what I'd say was a delicious cocoa and coffee taste. To be honest, though, I taste that a lot in cigars, so I was more intrigued by the rest of the flavours. Unfortunately, I find anything which isn't bleeding obvious really difficult to pick out! It's enough for me to know I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar and to be able to rate it against others. I was thinking 'box' from very early on!

Just in case anyone is remotely interested, I had No.20 on the list yesterday - the Nat Sherman Timeless Collection Divino - but fell foul of wi-fi issues and I gave up bothering to post. That was a definite grower. At the start I was indifferent but by the end I was sad to put it down.

I've tried and failed to upload pictures this evening, so words are all I've got!

Have you tried using a cigar flavour wheel?

I found it really helpful (and still do) when trying to pick out certain flavours that I can't quite work out.

Read good things about the cuaba , which would you recommend as an introduction to the brand

Yes, I guess so. It was a dark colour. I don't know why I can't post a picture! I'm sure you can find it anyway.

You see I couldn't follow through on your advice last week. Was all up for skipping a few and trying a higher ranking cigar, then started to twitch nervously. I just have to follow due process! That means it'll be a while before I get to the Monte No 2, which is their top ranking cigar for 2013!

I haven't bought one (not sure if you can, they all seem to be on American sites), I just use the one posted on my phone or iPad.

I might try and have a fiddle to see if I can design one if I ever get the time with the UKCF logo, I'm sure someone on. Here would be able to get them printed.
